  HD

I hate to admit it. But I finally bought this on CD yesterday. I have the LP and I had a cd-r. But I thougt, I should own the real deal. so I bought it. LB liner notes and all. There are some great DA pics, so it's pretty cool. Terry all young and kinda Mountain Dewed playing his Ric with the cool new wave tie! Rock on dude!
Larry's liner notes still kinda bug me. What is he trying to prove? Confused

Great CD, but Larry's ego is another thing.

Yeah...

I don't get it.
I am happy I finally got the real deal.
Just for Terry's sake if anything.

In another post I made a joke about Larry having Alzheimers Disease and then I found out that he really is sick. What does he have? I feel sorry for him but I still have a hard time liking the guy.

Severe heart problems. I have a picture of him. He weights 140 pounds now.

Posted by dorfsmith on 08-27-2002 at18:38:

That's not good. He used to be over 200 right???

Posted by Mark on 08-27-2002 at18:40:

I think so. He doesn't look well. His family and Phydeaux are even talking of selling rare things such as original masters of albums. See another thread on HD masters.

I don't really mind his comments in the notes; what I mind is the two covers of "Hound" that he stuck on the CD...

Are you talking about when he hit his head?

Actually, I'm talking about when I banged my head against the wall the first time I heard Larry sing those songs.

I knew I would never buy the HD masters, so buying the CD seemed like the next best deal Wink

That's right. CD's aren't good enough.

If you are Neil Young maybe. I read that he only listens to masters Roll Eyes

Posted by Mark on 09-03-2002 at16:33:

Neil Young hates CD's or at least did. He was strongly against them and did all kinds of interviews for years denouncing them. He said that vinyl was warmer sounding. I understand somewhat what he meant. Some of those early CD's did not have good sound quality. Now they sound better. I have some CD's that I upgraded when they were remastered and there was a world of difference.
