I still haven't had the chance to watch it. We had lots of company today. MF's grandparents came over for about an hour this morning. Then after nap, we had some friends come over for dinner and to play music. We had a blast! We won't get to see them again before we move so it was nice to get together with them. We actually are having a going away party on Sunday, but they will be out of town that day. Maybe we'll get the chance to watch it tomorrow evening. I sure hope we can watch the DVD before we move in less than 2 weeks.

A big pain in th a$$, sure, but I'm grateful for the guys being willing to go to such pains to make a wonderful masterpiece of listening pleasure. Pleased

I'm sorry if this sounds corny, but while I watched this I thought about other behind the scenes stuff I've seen on other bands -- with all the fights and arguments and egos clashing, and I thought, what a difference Christ makes. And actually I'm not all that sorry.

Yes!

What an absolute joy it was to watch this. Thank you A brothers from the bottom of my heart.

  B-day DVD

Got MBD DVD for my birthday this weekend and have been watching bits of it when I have the time. Chandler's introspective observations of his own cinematography is HILARIOUS... he knocks over that lamp like he trained under Peter Sellers. The fact that the audio track is about a second behind the video just adds to that segment.

And the whole "Let It Be" awkward band moment spoof was great too.... "I'll play the cymbals, or I won't play the cymbals... whatever you want..."

Quite enjoyable. Now if someone has any footage of the legendary Horrendous Disc Pajama party or Marty D. spilling a milkshake on the mixing console, the Townsends can start production of their next DVD!

That audio being off was a weird bug, I would fix it and it would come back over and over. The last Master we sent Tim had it fixed, and the way it is on my PC it is fixed, but the error came back while they mastered it.

They said there were VOB errors, which can cause audio problems because they are errors in the information that tells the player how long the video track is. If it has the wrong info, the audio and video won't line up. They actually had trouble mastering it because of this.

It was very frustrating and since we couldn't seem to get rid of it, I assume its meant to be there.

That Tim part was on the tape that was lost, with it and another tape there was some tracking issues or something. So I think that attributed to the problem when the tape was digitized into the PC. Parts of the tape wouldn't even play, some had no audio.

At this point I am thankfull it didnt' throw off the audio of the rest of the film. And I guess...having a little bit of error mixed into that Tim segment does make sense.....er, I mean....

You need a Mac! There is no better way to go with video, audio or graphics.

Posted by audiori on 07-27-2005 at04:10:

Whatever the problem was - it wasn't on our computer.

Mac's are overrated (by mac owners.) Tongue

.

HMMM - It does only happen when Tim is speaking.
Sounds like Berger may have intercepted it on the way to the Mastering
house and overdubbed his own commentary!

yeah, I've had that problem before... it can be a real pain. Now I just re-record the video to my hard drive and start over instead of wasting time trying to fix the error. (it always happens when I try to go from VHS to PC)

Yes, yes! That's EXACTLY what happened!! In fact, if you play the audio backwards, you can hear me speaking in Swedish about nuclear physics and such!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
AHAHAGGGGXXXCCgggxxxkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

(Oh by the way, Chandler, go look at a thread on The Choir Messageboard called "Sacred Cows." Those people really hate DA!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAgggggkk!! haggkk! gkkk!!)

Posted by Gabriel Syme on 07-27-2005 at10:39:

So Daniel Amos is "impaled on the horns of your sacred cow" then? Big Grin

Posted by Berger Roy Al on 07-27-2005 at10:54:

Yes! Daniel Amos is impaled on the...the ... ...uh, horns...on the horns....uh, the horns what are on... ....uh.... How does that go again?

Posted by freak on 07-27-2005 at13:40:

Daniel Amos wird "auf den Hornen Ihrer heiligen Kuh festgenagelt"

  blowing smoke

Hey Berger, I saw some guy on the MBD tape puffing those coffin nails, and harassing/chasing around some poor innocent little kids.

He looked distantly related to you, but put on the airs of being slightly more sane (no offense, but Windex only works on zits and stuff like that...)

'sup with that???

Posted by Berger Roy Al on 07-27-2005 at14:48:

John Foxe, the only way I can respond is to say what I did on the backwards audio track which is this: in large-scale ab initio calculations of ground and excited states of Mommy! and preliminary calculations for ggkk! and GGXKK! using coupled-cluster methods and algorithms developed in quantum chemistry, and by using realistic two-body interactions and the renormalized form of the Hamiltonian obtained with a no-core G-matrix approach, we are able to obtain the virtually converged results for 16O and promising results for 15O and 17O at the level of two-body interactions. Woof!!
