Yeah, I can sort of relate. My wife never really says anything, but she knows I've got a problem. My friend calls me the other day, (My only Taylor fan friend around here!) to inform me that there are two new limited CDs coming out for a total of thirty bucks, I then tell him your about to see a man pull thirty bucks out of his.....Well you can only guess where.. My wife looks at me like I'm sick!

Intro. to Mr. Taylor? 08-23-2002 20:04 Forum: General Discussion

I'm curious to what or how others were introduced to DA and/or other Terry Taylor related stuff?

I was in Florida about ten years ago (I live in Michigan) at Longs CHristian Music. They had a box full of budget priced cassettes. I dug in a found Vox Humana. .99 cents!
I did not really like it.After that I heard the Lost Dogs Scenic Route and said to myself: " Man This Terry Taylor guy has written the bulk of the material, hmmmn, where have I heard that name, ah DA."

A year later I ordered (I guess you can call me a sucker.)Kalhoun from Radrockers for Five bucks! sealed!
Now that was good...I've since bought about 15 or so others since, including Alarma Chronicles bookset. I'm hooked now.
This guy amazes me with his output. He write more material than ANYBODy around at the present. Look at how many bands he's involved with! And we're not talking run of the mill earcandy here! It's Philosophy set to music.....

50?
Wow. I have maybe 15 or so with two on the way.
It's good to know I'm in such fine company. Looks like I'll make a home here for a little while.

Wow, it's been about a week or so since I posted this. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's addicted to Uncle Terry's wit..! People realy don't know the gem they are missing out on..My kids favorite tune is probably "A song of Innocence" (Solo) The wife, well, when it comes to DA her liking is probably all the LP's up until Alarma. Shotgun Angel probably her fav. Although she can dig on the new one a little more than the last several.

Yeah, that's good. No , it probably happens to all of us.
You should see the look I got the other day at work. I was cranking out the new album, one of my coworkers just looked at me in total disbelief: "what are you listening to?"
I just wish they would come out here in Michigan for a show. I can see them as the dogs. Would love to see Da.

I am an official DA freak. ARe there many more? What do you think the population is?
My wife is not quite the "Freak" , but can dig them at least a little. But At least I have a great freind who digs on them too......
Yes I am new here. How long does it take before my normal way of processing information, becomes "Taylorized"?

DR. Rich:
The more I listen to this one, the more I like it
The writing is great on it.
I think it may be some of the finest pop tunes ever!

Hemihead:
This is one DA lp that I still need to work on. It was the first DA album I ever heard, did'nt like it. But I've since got around to owning all but a couple. (Darn Floor, Ist LP.) Since I bought the Alarma Chron., it has grown on me a little.
