Thread: Hey Terry...What does semi-retirement feel like? |
|
Christianity Today had this blurb about John Davis in their Best New Artist of 2005 section:
John Davis earned worldwide acclaim with alternative rock band Superdrag, but alcohol abuse put him on a path of self-destruction—until God intervened. Davis accepted Christ and turned his life around; he's now a devoted husband and father, as well as a solo artist. His self-titled debut is an enjoyable mix of Brit rock, '60s psychedelia, alternative pop, and straight-up gospel. With artists like PFR, Randy Stonehill, and Terry Taylor in semi-retirement, Davis takes the reins as the faith-based answer to Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney. The songs are simple, evangelical, and inspiring—an effective musical testimony from a someone thankful that the Lord turned his life around.

I'm curious as to what the deal was with Chris Colbert's hands(all bandaged up). It appeared he may have hurt his leg, too. Did he have a motorcycle accident or something? Does anyone know? Does anyone care?

just got .tired of it, and got .tired of getting into near-bar-fights with rednecks while on tour. |
I only saw you with the Choir, once in B'ham & once @ Inner Seeds (Atl).
Ya'll seemed to be reserved.
Was it because you were paranoid of us Deep South rednecks?

I finally got to hear some of the music, but I still didn't get to hear the theme song. What I did hear sounded cool (the last 5 minutes of the show). We were at MF's Grandmother's house (the one who passed away last Oct.) and his aunt who now owns the house keeps satellite for the TV so the family can use the house whenever they want. It's a nice place to get away from life for a while. |
We were wondering where ya been. I was getting worried.
How's the little 'uns?

Ditto AudioriJ's comments.
Also, the vocal talent is stellar (Newman from Seinfeld & one of the Kids In The Hall...I never can remem....oh yeah....is it Kevin McDonald?). And the other main voice sounds like Scotty from Star Trek. Pretty strong animated combo.
Also, adults that have lackadaisical of the gross-out toons & the hero/anime stuff for their kids have probably embraced a toon like this.
This early success is very encouraging.

This should have read "have lackadaisical of the gross-out....." but it got edited.
Interesting. |
It did it again. The word in question is spelled t...i...r....e....d, not lackadaisical.
Interesting.

Nope, I've always told you I'm a good actress!

Uh-oh, Mountain Fan.
Remember the scene from "When Harry Met Sally"?
|
|
Don't remember. I think I only saw that maybe once and if I did it was a long time ago.
|
Good for you. Forget I even mentioned it. So..... how's the weather over there?
