Daily Report # 1 from JT on the DADL 07-03-2002 17:42 Forum: General Discussion

JT - DA's manager has posted this to the DADL so I thought I'd share it for all you guys who arn't true fans and on the list. Smile )

Anyway with out further ado..

quote:
I thought I'd try something new this year for those of you not able to
join us here at Cornerstone. That is, I'll write a bit each morning
when I return from the fest to keep you all in the loop as to the
happenings...

Today was set up day for the Warm & Filled booth. Jason and Eric
Townsend arrived after picking Terry and Tom (Strahle -- fill in
guitartist for Greg Flesh) up at the StL airport. (Btw, you can here
Tom's musical stylings on the acoustic guitar on LITTLE, big). We
completed the merch set up and are ready to open the booth tomorrow at
noon -- the official start of the festival.

Terry, Tom and Rob Watson all arrived safe today. They immediately
began rehearsals for a few of the TST and DA related shows.

Mike Roe and Mark Harmon, as well as Ed McTaggert and Tim Chandler are
all set to arrive later today (Tuesday). There are no DA or 77's
related shows schedule for today, so the day will be spent in
rehearsals, at the W&F merch booth, and generally caring for the new
releases (which all made there way to CStone on time).

Got to see a few from the list again today (Trish Zacher (nowLove?),
Glen and Linda Miller, David Cervantes, and Kevin Schaeffer immediately
come to mind). This, of course, is the best part of the fest. Now that
the booth is set up, more time will be afforded to visiting...

Until tomorrow.

JT

So what in total am I waiting on...

When Everyone Wore Hats -- ain't gonna pay it. Sorry. Just ain't.

Little, Big -- need birthday money. Send birthday money.

Mr Beuchners Dream t shirt -- heck, aren't we ALL?

When Everyone Wore Hats t shirt -- see also WEWH

Orbis -- Got it. Funky. Not in the same way as...

that funky crow thing -- though, but funky....

Later -- need birthday money. Send birthday money.

a 77s poster -- cheap idolatrous slut.

Making God Smile --- need birthday money. Send birthday money. Before it goes to one disk. Otherwise I'll probably pass.

Paste sampler 1 -- lame. But cheap.

Aliens and strangers - silent planet sampler -- didn't know about this one. Need birthday money. Send birthday money.

Avocado club disk 2 -- waiting too....

Hey! No mention of Bill Mallonee's Fetal Position? If y'r a VoL fan, you want it. If y'r not (or if, like me, you find Slow Dark Train to be a Zoom Daddy-like desert island disk and find the rest of his stuff only moderately interesting), heck, he still needs the money....

So I'm a cheap idolatrous slut am I? :p Well I might be but I'm one with a poster...

The paste sampler 1 was free if you buy two things from paste, so I got Makeing God Smile and the silent planet sampler which was also cheap - tee hee hee.

I have only heard one VOL song and that's the one on the Mark Heard tribute so once the birthday money arrives for me maybe then I'll get it. And also the Eddies DVD - but that will be after I get the DVD player.

Oh yeah - In regards to your birthday money - the check is in the male. (just don't ask which male...)

But then you also have to have someone try to change the thread back to the original topic. Big Grin

I'm think I'm really going to like both disk 2 and 3. I've been listening to SOTH while waiting for them to arrive.

Every day I go home for lunch and it's not there *sigh*

So what in total am I waiting on...

When Everyone Wore Hats
Little, Big
Mr Beuchners Dream t shirt
When Everyone Wore Hats t shirt
Orbis
that funky crow thing
Later
a 77s poster
Making God Smile
Paste sampler 1
Aliens and strangers - silent planet sampler
Avocado club disk 2

Of course not all have been sent (or made!) yet and most are due this week. Boy... is the trip to the youth group snow camp going to be interesting this weekend if they do get here.

What you could have is a "product" for sale called international freight charge.

Those who are honest enough can add this to their cart until you can get the webstore fixed.

Lets just hope the completest people don't decide to buy one without looking thinking it's a new Cd and then moan afterwards.

Just an idea.

An idea for Avocado Club disk two 06-30-2002 20:32 Forum: General Discussion

I'm still loving the club disk number one - but I've had an idea for disk two, or if you've done that one already disk three...

How about tape the accoustic performance of Terry from Cornerstone or a performance anywhere and put that on the disk.

Just something for all the fans who can't get to a concert.

Failing that have him burp and fart into a microphone - oh wait that's imaginarium disk two...

ermm how about singing non-sense to a beat - oh MBD disk two bonus track.

Then in that case he could sing his grocery list to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy I'm sure the true fans would appreciate that Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Have you a timeline for club disk two yet...?

Feeling Guilty 06-30-2002 20:24 Forum: General Discussion

I ordered Little, Big last week and the freight charge was $1.50 and I'm feeling guilty about that.

You see I live in New Zealand (in case I hadn't mentioned that before Smile )and to New Zealand the freight for one disk - from looking at the stamp on the outside - is usually between $3 to $5

Which means between $1.50 and $3.50 is taken right off the top of the profit for Terry, Audiori and Co. And when you are talking about a $12 disk it's a big percentage (12.5% to 25%)

Also with the Avocado club I paid my $20 and the freight is of course more to get the stuff too me. So less money is made by me than for all the USA and Canada dudes who the freight rates have been set for.

Why don't you set up an international freight charge on the web stores? I know I'm kicking myself in the teeth here but for Terry and Co. they deserve my money more than I do.

Arrgggh Not only do I have the standard two week wait as the package crosses the great blue ditch but I have to wait an extra day as well.

24 more hours - A lot can happen in that time - Just ask Keifer.

Just kidding - I'm looking forward to it and I do have patience.

And minesweeper

And other games too.

I just wish we (New Zealand)had a Christian of any sort who advised our countries leaders. Or a leader who would even listen to a Christian full stop.

Just recently the Queen of England visited our fair shores. Now she is the head of the Anglican Church and so at the dinner our Prime Minister said they would not have grace at a banquet as we are a secular nation. :X

The leader of the opposition is a Catholic (and distant cousin of mine) So I know what party I'll be voting for.

(of course, they'd probably have a heart attack just reading the song title)

They have them listed in their "Bands who are evil because they cover other peoples songs" section.

Y'know it's that whole sing a new song thing.

Terry who?? 06-05-2002 16:41 Forum: General Discussion

When ever I say, "I'm quoting the great poet and lyricist," they don't even have to ask, "Who?" However, I do quote Peter Townsend and Bob Dylan a lot too. Know if we can just get Terry to record an album with those two.
LK-9

The people at church that I hang with are begining to get it as well.

One person that I'm prepareing a youth service with was at my appartment the other night. Looks at my huge pile of CD's (about 150) and then I point out the TST collection of around 40 she goes "Who?" (I couldn't get a TST tune into the service but I did get a dance to "The Finish Line by Steve T.)In the past we did a dance to "Faces to the Window" on the 40 hour famine weekend (World vision)

Slowly my brother -slowly we will educate them and bring them to the Glory that is Terry. I see it as part of their Christian walk....
