I've got a question for you....when a CD is reprinted, is it indicated anywhere on the booklet or packaging? Can you know if you have a first printing like with a book?

Ah, it's in San Antonio...I assumed it was in Austin since that's where you are located.

No problem, I'll still go! Gonna order the tickets shortly.

I'll be there. Where do we get details? Tickets and such?

I couldn't find a Cafe Green Tea in Austin when I googled it...

I'm close enough to Austin that I would make the trip to see it. I'm trying to get a venue here to book the show, but they don't know who he is and are afraid that they wouldn't make any money.

Whaddaya do?

How do we get info on getting a tour stop in our area? There's a great venue not far from me, that I've pestered about having the Dogs booked there. Maybe I can put this bug in their ear? Or maybe they'll just stop reading my emails???

You know, you're right, the saying IS "don't cut muster". I guess I've been saying it wrong for years.

But it don't cut mustard, either....

RE: Guster 01-19-2009 17:03 Forum: General Discussion

This is the only Guster album I own. I'd like to hear more, but so far, I haven't.

It fulfills my one real expectation in a record....lots of melody. If you can't hum it, it don't cut mustard with me. I like Wilco A LOT, but I haven't heard "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" (I think...) yet. Some have called it experimental noise. And that scares me off a bit.

Hey, I notice that you listed L.E.O.s "Alpacas Orgling" with a rating of 9. Good call. I really enjoyed this album and even though it was a tribute, I think it stands on it's own as an enjoyable listen.

You didn't give the Guster album a rating, though. How high would you have rated it?

This has to be the most thorough and succinct album review I've ever read. Well done.

And I agree with you, any record with a monkey on it is aces in my book!

Hey Haveapez, been through Hico many times. Stopped at the Koffee Kup Kafe every time I think! Hard to believe a little place like that hides a DA fan. But glad to know it!

I finally got down to my PO Box and sure enough, DFBB was waiting on me. I popped it into the ol' CD player on the way home, and I was amazed....I wasn't even sure these were the same songs! I had (and still have) my original on a cassette tape, and the sound quality is worlds away. I'm hearing stuff that I didn't even know was there. It's as if these songs were rerecorded.

Worth every penny.

RE: "Suspension's the buzz, out at Wheaton..." 11-23-2008 17:42 Forum: General Discussion

A friend took me to a concert by this group "Daniel Amos". She was really into christian music, and knowing that I liked music in general, thought I'd enjoy it. I was floored by the show. Loved it. Bought the first two albums at the show. This was back in the late 70s.

Followed them ever since. Loved Terry's first two solo albums. Thought that "Motorcycle" was one of the best albums I'd ever heard. When the Lost Dogs began, I had a new band to follow. I kinda missed out on the Swirling Eddies, but I've caught up.

Last year the Dogs came through Houston, and I took a stack of CD booklets to have autographed. Terry was impressed that I'd seemingly bought everything he's ever done. And so far, I think I have....

He also played solo at my father-in-law's funeral. I was in charge of the music. I'll bet they're still scratching their heads at some of my choices!!!
