I wonder has anyone ever been at a Church and they sang a song written by Terry Taylor? I mean in a worship "all together now" setting, like U2 did with "I still haven't found what I'm looking for".

And if Ron E claims to be a wise man, well
It surely means that he doesn't know.
I see people who say they love Kansas and have only heard the radio hits. But their whole albums in the day were musical journeys. Now the longer musical journeys may not be for eveyone's musical stomach. I enjoy all of it. I just don't get how Ron E doesn't enjoy something Kansas did. 15 million sold records ain't too shabby.
Shirley don't call me Dorothy again.

My Grandmother's last name was Bender and her family twas from Kansas. They never talked much about that side of the family which leads me to wonder if they could have been related to the Bloody Benders.
Oh yea anyone comes through Midlothian and needs room and board come see me! WOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It's weird how artist that you enjoy so much and never imagined they could even know each other. Then a connection is made.
Thanks to peawinkel maybe a future collaboration.. You never know! We know he enjoyed the lyrics I wonder if he ever heard the song? I'm pretty sure he would like it. I believe I read that Kerry said in his book seeds of change he was a big Pet Sounds fan.

A good memory of Fearful Symmetry was when my friends and I would go camping about a mile from our neighborhood down Red Oak Creek into the woods. Well we would make some late night ventures back into civilization. You know toilet paper, fork a yard, ring the big annoying bell on Willowcreek street behind these people's house, knock on a few doors or ring the doorbell. Well our entry way back to the woods was a little trail between a house and a vacant wooded lot. As we headed back into the woods we turned on our Ghetto Blaster (The Ghetto blaster bearer was equivalent to a flag bearer in our gang) which just happened to be playing Fearful Symmetry. Unbeknownst to most of us, one of our flock had run off to ring one last door bell. All the sudden this friend comes running up to us just as we were about to get off the main road towards the trail and tells us to run. The lights come on at the house and you can here the door open. We started running through the huge cedar trees where spiders had just spun their webs for the night. Also it happened to be a full moon. As we ran you could here "When the moonlight sleeps on the frosted hill" I can imagine those older people listening to To that eerie song fade into the woods. It felt like we were in slow mo. Thanks Terry!

Ahh great summers! In the hot Texas sun at my friend Brad's swimming pool. Our favorite swimming album was Vox Humana We even invented a DA inspired game called "Slapped Silly". The rules I don't remember but I do rememebr if a soccerball hit you in the face and you didn't catch it you got "Slapped Silly". Hmm that might be the whole game there? From beginning to end and then again we would flood our ears with DA. We'd pull our chlorine water soaked hair straight upwards and run around the pool popping each other with towels. We would pretend we had rocket packs on as we sprung of the board. Mellow with some lemonade when WB came on and look of into the clear blue sky. Good times. Thanks Terry!

That reminds me of a story. About twenty years ago when I worked at a convienent store in a small Texas town on Fridays all the goat ropers would come in the store before they headed to the Chandelier to Dance and get drunk and other carnal pleasures. This one 6 ft 4 300lb dude that came in would always where a pink bandana around his cowboy hat. One time I asked him why did he wear a pink bandana? He looked at me and said "hop'n it'll get me into a fight tonight!" His name was Bubba and he said if I ever got in trouble at the Chandelier just yell out "Bubba!" and he'll come a run'n! This was pre Brokeback so I don't think he was hitt'n on me. Hmmm?

I was trying to retrieve a paper that a friend of mine wrote in college on Terry Taylor. I believe he got 90 percent of his info from Terry's wife over the phone. My friend just informed me that the teacher he turned the papaer into never returned it. Too bad!

Here is a cover that these fellas and I recorded live for ETSU's BSU. Poor mixing to tape. Then transfered from tape to MP3 . Kind of peaks. Especially bass. Tape was old. Sorry. That's me on the Buffalo Bass. Think it's early mid 90's. We had fun. We were called The Ockham Razor Heads.

It gets pretty scary in Tejas when it comes to Football. We luv us some football! I remember lots of kids when I was growing up in High School who quit because of coach favortism toward other players. I think those kind of teams usually don't do so well unless there is just one unbelievable star on the team. I think it would be up to the Max. Is there a team captain? Maybe bring it up to him. If a parent brings it up it looks like bias and people start talking behind ya. Maybe he is saving Max for High School?
