Livgren's response to Into The Deep |
|
I posted on a Kerry Livgren list the fact that on the Surfonic CD, Into The Deep, written & performed by TST, the song is "for Kerry Livgren". We have a response from Livgren who apparently was not aware of the song from 1998.
regarding the question about the Terry Scott Taylor song with the note
"for Kerry Livgren", KL says:
> Never heard it before. I know OF Terry but I don't think we've ever
> met.
> Great lyrics....
I'll give you more breaking news as it becomes available...........

This was my cyber-highlight of 2005. I almost put TST & KL in touch. If only we can get a response from Terry to Kerry's response. What would it be....."Thank you, Kerry"? "Olly Oxen Free"?"Ever seen CatScratch"?

It's weird how artist that you enjoy so much and never imagined they could even know each other. Then a connection is made.
Thanks to peawinkel maybe a future collaboration.. You never know! We know he enjoyed the lyrics I wonder if he ever heard the song? I'm pretty sure he would like it. I believe I read that Kerry said in his book seeds of change he was a big Pet Sounds fan.

We'd be happy to send a copy of Surfonic (and maybe another title or two for the heck of it) if we had an address to send it to.

My Grandmother's last name was Bender and her family twas from Kansas. They never talked much about that side of the family which leads me to wonder if they could have been related to the Bloody Benders.
Oh yea anyone comes through Midlothian and needs room and board come see me! WOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sounds creepy. Another reason to try and stay at least 100 miles from Dallas.

It was a slight exaggeration, Dorothy. I know Kansas City is not in Kansas, at least, not the big one. I've been to Wichita. Yeah for me.

And if Ron E claims to be a wise man, well
It surely means that he doesn't know.
I see people who say they love Kansas and have only heard the radio hits. But their whole albums in the day were musical journeys. Now the longer musical journeys may not be for eveyone's musical stomach. I enjoy all of it. I just don't get how Ron E doesn't enjoy something Kansas did. 15 million sold records ain't too shabby.
Shirley don't call me Dorothy again.

I didn't say I didn't enjoy, just meant I have no real knowledge or care to discuss it... seems as though I've been drawn in though

In my proud opinion,
The music of Kansas/Livgren spans the gamut. The Maestro is the greatest composer & has held that position, only recently to be challenged by Neal Morse.
That's my mantra & I'm stickin' to it.
BTW, Terry Scott Taylor's great, too.
Getting back on topic
Also, the address Waka waka waka referenced is true & accurate. It would be cool for Kerry to hear Terry, so make it happen, you Audies.
