My copy of "Imaginarium" arrived in the mail today. I really had not intended to get it, but the more I thought about it, I realized that I could not possibly be a diehard Terry Taylor fan without hearing his soundtracks for video games!
I'm glad I broke down and got it! The first listen through the wierdness was almost overwhelming, but it is some incredibly creative music. I'm really enjoying it. I'll have to be careful though. If any of my parishioners hear "The Musical Fruit" I'll probably be kicked out of my pastorate!

This is a link to a very supportive group of Neverhood fans.
When we released Imaginarium all the fan sites took down
their sound files and made links to the store. Imaginarium
is one of our biggest sellers I think simply for that fact.
We talked to Terry about how these fans are sooooo
supportive, and he was very greatful. We even discussed
creating more Imaginarium style music, since there is a
supportive market there. We sell Imaginarum CDs
all over the world, it's huge in Japan. Both the
Skullmonkeys and the Neverhood were released on Playstation
over there. The Neverhood is called "Klayman" there though.
We even talked a while back about making a CD that was a
cross between this type stuff and the Swirling Eddies,
sort of a Swirling Eddies visit the Neverhood type thing.
To bring that market into the DA/Swilring Eddies one.
Not sure if that will happen, but it's possible.
It would probably be a very big seller, based on what CDs
sell well.
If you goto the Neverhood link, be nice to the kids.
Most are in their teens, oh and visit the Drawboard..
it's fun, you can draw on a sheet with several people
at the same time.

The Neverhood soundtrack is certainly one of my favorite TST projects. My boys ages 2-8 love to play the game with me and they really get a charge out of hearing the songs in the car. They re-inact scenes from the game when we play it on the stereo in the house. The Neverhood soundtrack is a great introduction to TST for young listeners. My favorite tune on the disc has to be the Southern Front Porch Whistler (I think that's what it's called). I'm often heard whistling that one at work. Great game...greater music.

Preachers From Outer Space. Now there's an album we don't talk about much here.

I just got this CD over the weekend and I love it.
Patti even likes it a lot.
It seems to have a Tom Waits vibe to it, just not quite as dark!

It's good. Great version of HD... better than the record version I think.

Preachers is probably one of the albums I listen to the least. Just for that, I may have to listen to it this week.

The version of HD is worth the cost of the CD

well yeah, that's the thing it's a lot of fun. It would be so nice to get other concerts from those early years if anything just to track how DA had changed from 1977 to 1981.
A lot of history there for us the few... the proud... the DA fan!
