Executive Committee Meeting

I. Call to Order
1600 hours · Attendees: Curt Kraemer, Len Rexrode, Dennis McGrath, Robert Stewart, Arnold Schiffman, Thomas West, and John Gavras

II. Secretary's Report
· Minutes of the August 6, 2001 meeting were accepted with minor amendments. Arnie Schiffman presented a motion to accept the report. The motion was seconded by John Gavras and approved by an Executive Committee vote.

III. Treasurer's Report
· The September 10, 2001 Treasurer's Report was accepted. Thomas West presented a motion to accept the report. The motion was seconded by John Gavras and approved by an Executive Committee vote.

IV. Correspondence
· Dennis is to prepare the Report for 2001 Advisory Board Meeting and Designation of Official Section Delegate that was received from AIPG National. The report is due back to National by September 15, 2001.

· Robert Stewart received correspondence from Conference Planning Associates on August 13, 2001 declining further assistance in the planning of the AIPG National Meeting in 2004. No specific reason for the withdraw of support was provided in the letter.

V. Old Business
· National Meeting: The Section has not selected a location for the National Meeting in 2004, and with the resignation of the outside conference planner, the responsibility of coordinating the location has reverted back to the NE Section and the Chairperson. Bob Stewart indicated that he had been in contact with the Saratoga, NY Chamber of Commerce and according to Bob, the Chamber of Commerce was excited about the prospect of the National Meeting being held in Saratoga. Bob was planning to touch base with Bob Fakundiny to discuss other successful meetings that have been held in the area and also to plan a trip to Saratoga to tour available facilities. Bob hoped to complete the preliminary visit to Saratoga prior to the Fall 2001 meeting.

· NE Section Fall Meeting: The Fall 2001 meeting is scheduled for October 17, 2001, and the meeting location and topic have been confirmed. The meeting will include a field trip in Caumsett State Park to be led by Dr. Gil Hanson of the Department of Geosciences at SUNY Stony Brook. As part of the field trip, Dr. Hanson will include a discussion of geology and beaches of Caumsett State Park.

· NHCPG Update: Tim Stone provided a brief update on the status of the New Hampshire licensing program by telephone. The NHCPG has to date received 30 completed applications for licensing. In addition, the NHCPG was planning on displaying information about the licensing program and their organization at the upcoming Geological Society of America (GSA) meeting.

VI. New Business
· No new business was presented during the September 10, 2001 meeting.
