I think it can be the same... cept on Facebook, most of the people I have as friends I have actually interacted with in the "real" world. and most of them care about me as I care about them... minimally. And less voyeuristic here... no one ever wants pictures here.

there are a couple people on there that i hadn't talked to in over 20 years that i have kind of re-kindled a friendship with that i never would have talked to any other way......
yes, if someone is not really your friend there, then uh...remove them from your friends list!
terry? no, you are probably not going to get to know him any better there.....some cool updates on music he's working on there though....
i know mountain fan has expressed even more disgust than you for fb on dorfy's board....as i said to him, if you don't want to be there then don't...
but i think a better plan is not to post anything there you wouldn't want all of your "friends" to see................

Well, all you say is true, but I also don't want to see everyone else's dirty laundry aired... see Twitter as an example of Facebook gone terribly wrong!

Yup. Exactly. You have control over what you get out of it.
Generally, I have almost no time to do anything on FB.. but I have enjoyed reconnecting with a couple of people I haven't seen in a decade or more. It has also been an easy way to stay in touch with a few people scattered around the globe. I've only posted a few pictures.. mostly concerts and vacation stuff because a few people wanted to see them. Nothing too personal.

I know I can control what I put out, but I don't want to be a voyeur, and I don't want to be in on anyone else's annoying spewing... anyway, I see the value, I just want a break, likely tonight I'll get off it... perhaps tomorrow.

I like Twitter better than FB. No one on Twitter tells me what type of sandwich they should be or which of the disciples they are most like or whatever stupid app is popular at the moment.
