  Great review!

One of the big industry rags that I work for had the following article back in the day. Who knew the secular world paid any attention!

SWIRLING EDDIES: Let's Spin!
The Eddies, a California conundrum featuring guys with names like Gene Pool, Berger Roy Al and Spot-yes, that Spot-are a hard lot to figure. Just when you think you've got their number they swirl away and avoid any tag you were ready to pin on them. While mostly playing the kind of `60s retro-dayglo-garage-fun-rock you'd expect to find on the Voxx or Midnight labels, the Eddies spin off slightly imperfect yet highly melodic guitar pop and some stiff but hearty punk-funk party-rockers. But they really sink their hooks in with their airy vocal harmonies, which take cues from Their Satanic Majesty's Request-era Stones ("Don't Ask Me How I Feel") and California surf bands ("What A World, What A World"), which add a shimmy and sheen to producer/leader Camarillo Eddy's otherwise scratchy lead vocals (like a cranky Ray Davies). Note the innocent but staggeringly tuneful "Catch That Angel," a song that woulda been a top 40 smash back in the days of AM radio. Also of special note is the Camper-esque title track, which is one of the grooviest party tunes we'll hear all year-it's the type of song that could pop up in twenty years on one of those late-night TV special offer comps. Don't delay, start spinning today.

Audiori - put this in the articles and reviews section when you have a chance.
