Berger Roy Al's real name is Carter Pownder. Pownder was an Ellis Island abbreviation from the original Irish Pownder McCheese.
And who'd ever buy into a rocker with a name like Carter Pownder-McCheese?

There must be some Arena Rock A&R guy with roots in the strange world of ccm rock or something??? |
one of the guys in charge of the reissue is j. edward keyes. people around here might know him best from writing starflyer 59's bio in their
easy come, easy go set. he's written for
magnet and writes for the all music guide and emusic now. i've been reading his stuff for about ten years now.
although he's an atheist, he does have roots in the church. he's a huge fan/critic of daniel amos, mike knott and the 77s (and some of their related bands). i remember hearing that he played
sin disease in its entirety on the college radio station that he dj'd.
hopefully he doesn't get upset with me spilling his guts here. he's really a good egg.

Bump
As of today...
CD release date TBD
Also, try Googling 'Arena Rock Recording' and look for something a little odd with the first item you see. Has anyone else noticed this before?

re: Cats For Obama - ARRCO is an indie-rock label. If you were expecting conservatism, you're overthinking the whole thing.
I will say, however, that their foot-dragging during this summer has been disappointing. The thing should have been finalized in time for Cornerstone, then pushed out afterward. Now what are we looking at? Fourth quarter? Holiday sales?

I was hoping the thing would be done for Christmas
last year!

We are proud to announce that DA's (Daniel Amos) Darn Floor, Big Bite is going to (finally) see it's proper re-issue this year! CDs are in production as I type. This will be a special 2-CD release. CD ONE will contain the original album re-mastered by our guru Don Tyler at Precision Mastering in LA (with help from our beloved Claudia). CD TWO will contain interviews, outtakes, and behind-the-scenes stuff that you DA dorks will love. Check back for a PRE-ORDER announcement soon. |
Good news, everyone, good news!

Same old (x2)
Don't mean to disappoint ya Marky, but that same message has been there for quite some time.

What does "production" mean?
It's a very generic word that could mean a lot of different things.
Posted by audiori on 08-25-2008 at00:53:
Exactly.. I *think* what they mean is just that its "in the works." As in, how a Producer is producing an album long before its being manufactured. This message was actually up on their site before the bonus CD was even completely approved by the band.

Not to be too critical, but to almost every band/label/manager/music fan, what they said there means that the CD's are being actually made (booklets printed, CD glass master stamping out CD's, etc.).
At least they are doing the reissue. Maybe they just need to clarify a little better.

I think they clarified as much as they meant to clarify.

I'm concerned with a general atmosphere lacking momentum.

So then, politicians own this label?

Yeah, but they seem to be a label that puts out what they announce. I don't really doubt it will happen, I'm just ready to hear this album for the first time.
