This is one of those classic misunderstood lyrics. What Uncle Terry is actually talking about is "Miss Treespot," his beloved 5th grade teacher. He used to bring her flowers every morning, which she would place behind her ears. He alludes to this also in the first line of "Grace Is The Smell Of Rain: "They call her flower ears..."

Please, people do your homework!!

By the way, the Mystery Spot has nothing on Kentucky's own "Golgotha Fun Park" which was probably the inspiration for "Bibleland":
