love that pick Waltb-

you mentioned a DADL tribute-was it ever really made?
(curious)

Posted by jwaltb on 01-05-2004 at12:44:

Thanks, jimny! I thought it was real kind of Texas to put that up to honor our little community. Maybe they got a hold of our first effort and decided we needed SOME kind of recognition....... (and if this is it, they were DEFINITELY kind ;-)) Anyway, on seeing that I had to get a shot of it.

As for the DADL tribute, the idea was tossed out a few years back and songs were recorded and submitted but the disc never was completed. IIRC I think funding for the project was a problem, but don't quote me.

We ran into problems with the DADL tribute when many of the
folks on it insisted on full artwork (booklet, etc) and no
CDRs. Well, that basically means we have to shell out a
couple of thousand dollars for it... which we weren't really
in a hurry to do. We tried having people send in checks... to
see how much could be paid for that way - we got about
$200. (none of the checks were cashed by the way).

More recently, we thought we might release it through CafePress...
they'll handle all of the printing, etc. The only delay there is that
a couple of people wanted to work on their songs a bit and
the guy that did the artwork wanted to polish the booklet up
a little.

  Hang on, BD!

I'm definitely in for More Negative Fruit...

Just not this week. The car insurance bill is in and, after this, I might need to pay a cardic specialist too!

Liberty Mutual, you heartless monsters, you...

Sure is! I couldn't believe my eyes when we passed that thing up. Too bad I didn't have my trusty little tool box with me at the time......... nah, I couldn't have handled the apprehension. I'da been singing "Guilty" for real!! Big Grin
