Danielson is da bomb-diggity live. I've only had the opportunity to see him perform once (Soul Junk, another super cool art band opened for them) and it was amazing. I have most of his catalogue too.

I had 43 people over for a house concert last night.

Do you have to get a license or zoning approval to have so many concerts in your home?

the REAL DEAL
Yes, I have found the next Mark Heard and his name's Tim Buchanan. His band's name is Tombstone Trailerpark and is also multi-instrumental (guitar, mandolin, native flutes) His spoken word albums are the kind of poetry that brings The Big Unit to mind (Bob Dylan, Terry Taylor, Mark Heard)...and the music had the same earthy quality Mark's did. DEFINATELY turn yourself on to this guy's music, you'll thank me later.

I think I'll check him out. Sounds like something I'd like

I still need to listen to that songwriters radio session. I saw the link on the Bill Mallonee site, just haven't gotten around to listening to it yet.

on ebay:
"well there's a riot in the courthouse, there's a fire in the street
there's a sinner bein' trampled by a thousand pious feet
there's a baby every minute bein' born without a chance
now don't that make you want to jump right up and start to dance?
let's do the funky
the funky western civilization
it's really spunky
it's just like summertime vacation
you just grab your partner by the hair
throw her down and leave her there
they put jesus on a cross, they put a hole in j.f.k.
they put hitler in the driver's seat and looked the other way
now they've got poison in the water and the whole world in a trance
but just because we're hypnotized, that don't mean we can't dance"

Same here and the CD.
This is one great album, and yes even with the language. If you don't have it, get it! H-A-T-R-E-D is one of the greatest Kiss Off songs ever written.

I would say they are here, among us, some mentioned in the previous posts.
for me Mark Heard was not Mark Heard until his last three CDs.
so, maybe we are already listening, just don't know how fortunate we are...
or have yet to hear their best work...
so just
Look over your shoulder they may be singing now...
It takes more than your passion and more than your pain
For the rock of forgiveness to melt in the rain
Look over your shoulder and tell me what's coming
Look into your sad eyes and tell me what you see
Look over your shoulder and tell me what's coming

Tonio K released pretty much everything through
Gadlfy Records
on CD over the last couple years. I think it's all still available,
at least it's in their catalog.
