Hey, I kinda like Debbie Boone...

quote:

So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You've come along

You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song

Shocked

  favorite lines from...

I think we can (as a sidebar) appreciate our favorite lines from a specific song...

I can't really say why I like this (but it fits in with the general pattern, considering that I like "psychosomatics cleaning their atics" so much), but this line touches me:

The hammer and the sickle
And the modern appliance

~G~

P.S. There is another line I really like that keeps jumping out at me as I listen to my Mr. B's D CD set, but I can never remember what song it is in when I go to look for it in the Lyrics...

So, you shall hear from me on this matter again!

I suppose he is right, I just don't like to think of it in those terms either. To me it's just good music and most CCM is not.

Greetings,

I was thinking of all of Taylor's good lines. Maybe we can list some as they pop into our minds. I'll start with a couple:

"Pray where you are."
- from the Lost Dogs song "Pray Where You Are".

"I was built for glory; I was made to last."
- from the Lost Dogs "Built for Glory, Made to Last".

"Hold onto hope that's in you. Don't always trust your eyes. Sometimes it takes a long time to see it as a blessing in disguise."
- from the Lost Dogs "Blessing in Disguise"

So that's a start, if anyone wants to add more.

Take care,
Jim

I think he would like....

God would have a lot of nerve to reserve that hot spot
for ya
No, you won't bring the temperature down one degree
Simply because you don't believe
Oh my! You'll fry as we wave good-bye to you

Roll Eyes

Keep in mind though, that Uncle Terry actually meant those words when he wrote them, and he certainly grew up, so I guess there is hope for Jim too. Pleased

Terry says he actually cringes at those words now.

Posted by Mark on 08-16-2002 at23:14:

Later he was singing, "Hit them with love".
