  East Coast BBQ?

The possibility of the BBQ bash has brought this long time lurker into the light. Any chance anyone is hosting an East Coast BBQ bash and looking for another wallet to contribute?

I'm in Michigan and the closest one so far is Minn. If I was single I might contemplate doing one with this good friend of mines help. Where are you?

Gentlemen, (Larry, Moe and Curly look around to see who I'm talking to) I encourage you to do what you can to produce a show. You'll not regret it.

I'd make the drive for a Virginia Show - it's only 8 - 9 hours from me here in Western NY.

Let's do it! Who can host?

Posted by Tweed And Smoke on 06-23-2003 at07:29:

I can't host (I live in a apt. in DC) but I can chip in $$$. Anyone can email me off-list at cptpipes@hotmail.com to discuss. Actually, we could possibly pull this off at a public park or on the roof of my building. I'll email Tim to find more details.

I'm sincere in wanting to get the guys to the DC area and it looks like it can be done the week of October 12-18. I've found a neighborhood backyard that would host this. Can I get a show of hands as to could commit to paying a $25 (or so) to pull this off? I'm not looking to profit off this. If enough people commit, we can shave down the price. Feel free to email me at cptpipes@hotmail.com.

Don't Light Your Own Fire

Not from the album "Daniel Amos"
Music by Terry Scott Taylor
Words by Captain Pedantic
©1976 Maranatha! Music

I see the steak sauce in the back yard - yay!
It's very hard to find the room to stand
I want so desperately to cook my own way
But Terry comes to my Barbeque and...
Well he says

"Don't light your own fire"
"Don't light your own fire"
"Don't light your own fire"

Seems I don't know the time to turn
the steak just won't get cooked right
I want to strike the match, I'm gonna watch the fire burn
But then Mikes voice pierces the night
And he says

"Don't light your own fire"
"Don't light your own fire"
"Don't light your own fire"

You wouldn't believe the way he's cookin' them dogs
'Cause he does it with old wooden logs
And at the end of the night Terry 'n' Mike must leave
So to you, I pass this on

"Don't light your own fire"
"Don't light your own fire"
"Don't light your own fire"
