That is funny. I like that idea.

Let's Spin should b re-released soon- I'm waiting for that to happen. I think Outdoor Elvis is in the same category.
As far as DA- I'm waiting for inspiration. There's so much to get and so much is out of print. The bidding on DA on eBay is fierce and there are no DA CDs in half@ebay. I started to buy Alarma! Chronicles used for $55 but felt that was a little pricy for me right now... I saw it new at Millenium 8 for $50 but I think it's sold out because it only comes up with a search by author. $50 is still a little rich for my blood after my reckless spending this month.
I certainly have not mined this vein of outstanding music, but it hasn't yet been a month. If Christ doesn't return soon, I'll probably get an opportunity to expand more later.

The origincal price for Alarma Chronicles was $40, so $50 or $55 is not that bad a price. It's well worth it and you get 4 albums (on 3 CDs) for your money's worth. Well worth it, you won't regret it!

I can't wait till a release of Let's Spin. I want bonus tracks. How about live tracks? How about a whole live album of the Eddies!!!

I listen through before I burn a CD. At least I listen to the transition from song to song to see if it will work well.

So far, so good, although I'm buying CDs too fast to enjoy them. On the TST side, I've got the following now- Lost Dogs (Green room serenade and Little Red Riding Hood/Pray where you are), Daniel Amos- Mr Buechner's Dream, Terry Scott Taylor- Glimpses of grace and John Wayne, Swirling eddies- Sacred Cows and Zoom Daddy.
This round of CD buying has also led me to get some Adam Again and the Gene Eugene Tribute. I remembered how much I used to love Steve Taylor and bought some of his stuff too.
I'm trying to get some Mike Knott but the interest in Christian punk was rekindled getting me to buy Watashi Wa, War Rocket Ajax and Poor Old Lu.
I like to saturate myself in new music and I've bought to much stuff to properly saturate myself. I'm trying to cool it for awhile, but ebay is kind of becoming an obsession, too.
I have a pretty large collection but I have a hard time figuring out what to buy because I have weird tastes and I can't get a decent CCM station in this area. So I experiment by buying, which is expensive! (CCM is maybe a bad term- I mean Christian music that I enjoy in contemporary sytles like rock, punk, metal, techno and alternative...)

You've still got a long way to go to collect all the needed CDs for a true DA collection. Where are your Daniel Amos CDs? As for Lost Dogs, get Scenic Routes--that's my fave. And with the Eddies, go for Let's Spin. It's a classic.

They went out a few weeks ago (after Cornerstone.) If you didn't get yours I would contack the DA Webstore and just inquire into your order and when it will arrive.

I see the same eclectic talent in Lost Dogs, DA and TST solo projects. It was not as apparent in Sacred Cows but it was there as well.
After I ordered this CD, I realized I could have gotten it cheaper at rad rockers or at half@ebay. If you don't tell my wife, I won't.

I'm not keen on hidden tracks after long silences either. Hard to do the 5 disc shuffle (which I often do.) Why can't they just make an extra unlisted track? Other artists do it. So you have 12 tracks listed but there's a 13th track on the CD. That's the way to do it!

As for MBD not selling well, I think a major issue is that people have never heard of Daniel Amos. You can't just walk into a music store and happen across a Daniel Amos album on the listening station (like in Border's--at least I've never seen Daniel Amos carried in Border's.)

Unfortunately, Daniel Amos doesn't have a "hip" look that would hold up in videos for VH1 or even MTV2. It's a shame. Video killed the radio star, and this is quite true, you have to have an appealing look AND play good music to make it (or at least look good.)

I think there needs to be some more targeted marketing for Daniel Amos. There is a market for well-written and well-crafted music. Unfortunately, the Christian music market is not usually where you find it. And even if you do, it's a couple of albums, but not all. Daniel Amos has been pretty consistent and improved and matured over the years, I think they are ready for the rest of the world.

In one sense, I like knowing that I know this group that no one else does, but in another, I want everyone to share in this gem. Why can't Daniel Amos get a song or two out on soundtracks of movies. Even the short-lived Chagall Guevara got a song on a soundtrack.

What do others think of this?

Thanks for posting the whole letter. Been a while since I listened to that. I had it downloaded on my one laptop but it was stolen. Now I have Compuke laptop that crashes if I look at it funny, so I have almost no music downloaded. I'll have to download it again and burn it to CD, it is just a funny track, especially since I totally disagree with almost everything he/she says.
