He's right, you know, and I didn't even get the second one. But I know the first one was.

Rick Altizer plays in Neal Morse's band. He can even be seen in the Testimony DVD.

Actually, that one did nothing for me. It works better in the context of Go Nova, but I didn't know that then.
This begs me to ask: Have you heard his version of "Surf's Up" on Making God Smile? Knocked me on my .ass. I was converted on the spot.

Oh yes!!! That one rocks. I forgot about that one. I just had his first two CD's and hated them. I have not heard his third.

They sort of get better as they go along. I'd sent Rick an encapsulated review of 'em all once & he pretty much agreed. Blue Plate Special's is kinda so-so; Neon Fixation has some great moments but he's definitely sitting on the CCM/his own artistic vision fence. Go Nova definitely has him going in the right direction full force; my only complaint is that it's too DAmb short. All Tie Zur is a half best-of/half new (including a pretty good song he wrote with Terry, "The World's Lonegst Night") and really should be yr one-stop shopping place. And now he does kids' worship CDs to pay the bills and none of his own stuff.
