Just ordered Nazarene Crying Towel. Anyone know how long the Dogs site takes to get the CD sent once it is ordered? Should I expect it right away, in six weeks, or what? It would be absolutely wonderful to have it before I go on vacation June 11 (hint hint hint, to any relevant parties out there).
Also, as a big fan of Gift Horse and Real Men Cry, how will this one sound? I can't wait to hear it.
Thank you,

I can't say how long the store will be but I can say that I think - nay - am certain - that you will like it.

If you ordered from the Dog store it should be shipping
within the week.
We're out of NCT at the moment, but have had more
ordered for a long time. After quite a while of waiting and
getting irritated at how long it was taking - we just found
out this last week that they shipped them to the former
manager. So... the distributor is sending us a new box. We
should get those pretty quick.

Any luck this past week of receivng the new box of NCTs, and sending me my copy?
Like I say it would be ideal to receive it before I go on vacation June 12, so that we can play it in the car.
But, if I can't get it by then, its no big crisis.

I ordered it at The Lost Dogs link provided at the top of the links page. The order form said "77s" at the top; and it was the same format order form as on the DA page.
So, you need to get it, and then you'll send it; and you expect it to be sent by week's end, right? Sounds good.

I would call the recording very acoustic and quiet. It's been described in other places as "organic".

That sounds kind of refreshing, actually. Are most of the songs Taylor compositions?

8 are Taylor, 2 are Roe/Taylor, 2 are Roe/Daugherty. Great album, definitely quiet and acoustic for the most part; very simple songs, a little short but it feels right that way. Real cool story by Uncle Terry in the liner notes that really pulls the album together with a theme of sorts. I just got finished having this album in my CD player for a few days. Highlights are "Come Down Here," "Jesus on the Shore," "Cry Out Loud," and "Darkest Night."

Oh man, I can't wait, I've heard lots of people here ranking "Jesus on the Shore" among their best. Can't wait to give it a spin. Thanks for the scoop.

nct is great!!! it is a very focused release. in my opinion it is less country (gift horse) and more "americana" or i guess organic is a good description. lyrically it reminds me of psalms, at least the way they are written.
i love nct.

It's a great album!
I found it at Family Bookstores a while back for $13!

It makes a great CD even sweeter when you get a good deal on it.
Only $15 for Buechner's Dream back when it came out, here on the baord, helped makethat CD even sweeter. That's a great price for a double CD.

Yup, we got the lost discs problem resolved..
the distributor was very helpful and moved
pretty quick to fix it once we figured out
exactly what had happened.
We had a bunch of NCTs going out this weekend..
yours is in that batch, so you should get it before
the 12th.

Got the CD today, played it more than a few times, and I love it.
Very beautuiful songs, lyrics, acoustic guitar, and harmonies.
This is going to be a wonderful CD to play driving down the
roads lined with farms, pine trees, etc. during next week's vacation.
The Lost Dogs last 3 albums seem very focused and inspired.
Seems like Gene's passing has borught about a real special musical bond between the remaining three. Whatever they're doing, I hope they keep it up.

Gene was alive when the did the first of the three, Gift Horse, this one is my favorite. Since that time (and Gene's passing) they've gotten more acoustic.
Personally, I think it's time to R&R again!

I'd guess odds are that with their next CD of remakes, there will be some rockers on there.

Not sure that I'd call Scenic Routes R&R, but whatever it is I'm all for it.
(I DO like the Towel quite a bit, though.... there's moments where it's just the right thing....)

First recording to grace the place was NCT
My daughter Jen and I just loved it again....
OK - so I played Ziggy Stardust yesterday..you gotta check out the infinity sound system in ALL catagories.......
I nearly wore out Motorcycle on the TST CD of the week recently-

Sounds like us jiminy! Our new set of wheels also has a CD player in it, and this is the first built in CD player we've ever had in a car (we do have a portable CD player that we hooked up to play through the radio in the car I usually drive, but that car don't even have a cassette player
).
It be feelin' great to finally be buying newer junk!
