This is what I say (so it must be important) Big Grin

Please do not re-issue the bookset. Just reissue each individual CD. Reissue them when you can with extras, etc. Reissue them as double discs if you have to much material for a single disc, but put the double discs in a single jewel case with a nice CD booklet. When all the rights are negotiated and every thing else is in place, do a pre-order two months before the release date for funding purposes. When you release a disc, do a download of it for everyone who pre-ordered. That way, if the manufacturing time runs over the release date, people can still access it. This way you're doing everything (almost) everybody wants. Kind of. Happy

Then maybe the owners of DA stuff will actually do something with it instead of it languishing in their vaults while the Townsends try to negotiate to use something that the owners aren't doing anything with anyway. Mad

as a musician, i don't like those ideas at all......as a fan they sound cool, i suppose....but you're talking about a total re-writing of the copyright laws....and it's not going to happen.

Thanks....I appreciate that. Part of me thinks though that if Terry had studio time to record he'd probably want to spend it recording new material vs. re-recording old records. I know this is the case with Mike. A couple months ago I asked him if I could pay the current 77's to record the few songs off of the "88" live record that were never recorded in the studio....and he laughed and said he couldn't think of anything he'd rather do less! So there you have it.

In terms of the DA re-releases that are planned, Jason and Eric really have a cool vision for these records, and they really are the guys for the job. The time it takes to do this stuff just is what it is....especially in cases where you have to go to another label or owner and work out deals. Heck...it took me over a year to get KMG to finally allow me to pay them through the nose to re-release "Ten Songs".... Roll Eyes

Me too, too!

It would be nice to see one of us win the lotto and buy KMG.
That would be what I would do if I won the lotto.
If I played the lotto.
Hmmmm.

WOW>

i had assumed when terry and others spoke of not owning those, that publishing was in there........cool news indeed, even if he doesn't start re-recording stuff!!

so many artists sign away publishing, i just always assumed....

For example Zoomdaddy music, Cancel and Eat or Twitchen Vibes is Terry's publishing, a lot of the albums will have that on the music, even if the album is owned by BEC, Frontline, Benson, KMG, Solid Rock, or whatever.
