Our friends at The Criterion Collection have a pair of euphonious releases due in July, staring with Edward Yang's 2000 Yi Yi, also known by the alternate title "A One and a Two" — Yang will offer a commentary, joined by Asian-cinema critic Tony Rayns, while other extras include a new interview with Rayns on the "New Taiwanese Cinema" and a trailer. Also due is Barbet Schroeder's 1978 documentary Koko: A Talking Gorilla, which will include a new, director-approved transfer, a new video interview with Schroeder, and an alternate French-language track. Both releases also will have enclosed booklets with essays and other materials. We'll post the street-dates as soon as they're finalized.
