Ed usually gets the stick for being the tasty, Watts-type of drummer. However, have you listened to Bibleland recently? Mr. McT owns that album. Sometimes he's in full-on manic mode ("Pete And Repeat" comes to mind...)

BTW, does that joke originate with the odd little exchange on the !Alarma! Radio Special (TT: ...Ed... a guy we never *really* liked... / Interviewer: Even as the interviewer, I'll say I never liked Ed...)? Or was it referring to something even earlier?

Wow, Ed's old. Happy Birthday, anyway.
Ed's not only a good drummer, but he can design CD books with the best of 'em.

I know I heard it a few times in the past, and then it was all over the DFBB reissue. Knowing what little I do about the real Ed (seen him in concert and at Cornerstone a few times), he seems to be such a nice and quiet guy. I suppose that's really the joke...

Terry's brought it up a couple times. He's said, paraphrasing, "Ed's the sweetest guy anyone could know so there really wasn't anything you could say about him. So we just say we never liked him much."
