We did "Holy Emmanuel" in church this morning. Our Praise Band director said, "You oughta be happy, we're doing a Terry Taylor song this week!". He knows that Terry is my favorite songwriter.
Since I've been in the band, we've done three songs by Steve Hindalong and now, two, by Terry.
Hmmm, gotta get some by Mike Roe and Derri Daughtery now!

I heard the song yesterday.
Maybe someday I'll hear it a church....

We have done that song as well. We did not do it this way. I actually really pushed for the performance of that song . The Theology is strong and the lyrics are fantastic. I have an in with the praise director as she is my wife so I did not have to push too hard. We will at least do the song for Ephiphany as it is a great song for the topic of that week. We are preaching on Seeking after the Messiah. I encourage every church to sing Holy Emmanuel. I am not sure if there are other Taylor songs that work for a praise team. Perhaps some off of Nazarene Crying Towel. I wish I could get a songbook for that album. I would buy that product in a heartbeat. I would probably buy most songbooks that this site could offer. Perhaps this is a new way to raise money for upcoming projects. I would buy a collected works of Terry Taylor songbook for $20-$30 depending on which songs were included and how many. Well, God bless!

If some people enjoy transcribing stuff, and they would send them our way, we would look into printing a book. We have a few already, but I know for sure Terry doesn't have any scores written out in any usable format. He tends to have the music in his head and vocalizes out the parts he wants people to play.

I transcribed "Be My Hiding Place" and "Moses in the Desert". The others I have, I found online.

To do books in mass production for church use, you'd pretty much need someone who can do piano & vocal scores.
Can't help you there, sorry.

We peformed Holy Emmanuel yesterday. It was quite enjoyable to sing it in church and I always enjoy seeing Terry's and Steve's names up on the scren when we get the the screen with the copyright info. Their names deserve to be up there a lot more as they are great artists and they are real people with real faith. God bless!

Right you are. I try to put their music out there as much as possible.
I've been going to this local open mic where I do a lot of Terry's songs.
