DFBB is my favorite too. Fearful Symmetry and Vox are kind of tied in my book. How do you choose between them?

FS is better than Vox!
Though VH is really kick burro too! I would love if Terry did a "Hats" version of VH!

#2 on my list!
I don't get it either!
Doppelganger has more of the trappings of "art rock" than FS does!

Top 5s are so funny!
Mine is pretty much staying the same, but I love all those records so much!

Yelp!
MBD
SOTH/WEWH
DFBB
Motorcycle
Many "ties" afterwards
All that new-wave 80s stuff is just sooo, like, dated.
Good lyrics but the music of DFBB and following is just so superior!

Being so dated myself, I have a top 5 that looks like this:
1. MBD
2. Doppelganger
3. Motorcycle
3. Fearful Symmetry
5. Vox Humana
I never like Darn Floor, Big Bite that much.
I didn't realize that Terry doesn't like Fearful Symmetry!!! I assume he said why he doesn't like, so could someone enlighten me?

In the alarma bookset terry says "Fearful Symmetry, my least favorite of the four because of it's grandiose "art rock" stylizing..."
To be fair though, later on he calls FS a "fairly successful undertaking..."
And that's your terry lesson for today kids

Earth & all stars! Loud rushing planets!
Sing to the Lord a New Song!
Hail, wind & rain! Loud blowing snowstorms!
Sing to the Lord a New Song!
Don't forget the verse about the loud clanging test tubes, or what ever it is.
Myron (I too will praise Him with a new song)

Fearfull Symetry/Top Five |
|
I don't get what people see in FS, I didn't like it then and I don't like it now, I guess I'm old school:
Top Five-
1. Horrendous Disc
2. Alarma
3. Vox Humana
4. Shotgun Angel
5. Doppleganger
Nothing since Vox Humana has really grabbed my attention, although in fairness, I haven't really heard MBD yet.

I never thought of FS as "grandiose." I suppose it is ambitious & expansive, but in an interior sort of way. That is, the focus seems to move into the interior of the sould after three very "exterior" albums.
Arrgh. That doesn't make a bit of sense.

You must be my mirror-image twin! I tend to like DFBB and everything after that best.
