Also - in case anyone might be curious. We are working with a label on these and they are putting up most of the budget. Any internal expense is coming out of our pockets. So, none of this affects Terry's donations or webstore sales.

Big news: Deluxe REMASTERED Collector's Edition 2-disc re-issue of Shotgun Angel is finished and will be debuted on the Daniel Amos summer tour. Beautiful 24-page booklet with more than 30 unseen photos as well as a 26-track bonus disc loaded with amazing 4-track demos of almost the whole album, unreleased songs, plus in-studio mixes which break down the songs like you've never heard them before. It's like being in the studio with the band, listening in to musical history being made between studio genius and knee-slapping nuttiness. It will also be available on the www.danielamos.com website shortly. Also coming new versions of the first Daniel Amos record (same tracks as the first 2-disc re-issue but with an expanded 16-page booklet and digipak) and a new edition of Mr. Buechner's Dream with a new 24-page booklet and bonus track. These are being released in conjunction with Born Twice and Retroactive Records. Look for them on the tour or on the website soon.
----
Just as a related note about the webstore - we will be caught up on orders and email way before these go on sale. I'm thinking a bug chunk of it will be caught up this weekend and probably just a little more to go out early next week.

How much is a "bug chunk"?
It's good to see these re-issues. Hopefully it will help Terry's $$ situation as well as help finance a new DA album....

Cool. I'll be picking up Shotgun and MBD. Now I can ditch my M8 Shotgun.

Or will this remaster include the radio show that was on the M8 version?

No, hold on to that disc anyway. We might also make the radio available in some other way.

This is great news!
Will there be any repetition between the 2nd disc of the 2001 M8 Shotgun Angel and the new SA 2nd disc?
Will there be a way to buy/download just the single bonus track from MBD for those of us who purchased it lo these many (10) years ago? If it's "Nowhere Is Someplace", it's definitely worth having.
Thanks!
Adam

This Shotgun Angel blows away the m8 version. The only thing we included from the m8 version is a very short clip from the radio show where you hear the guys working on vocal overdubs. Its probably 15 seconds long or something.
Everything else is brand new. The demos have been sitting in someones storage building since 1976. We restored, mixed and mastered those for the first time for this release. The studio outtakes and alternate mixes come directly from the original 24 track masters.. all newly restored to digital format.
The album itself has also been newly remastered and sounds great... no gaps between tracks, no glitches or digital noise. We also corrected an audio error that was included on the old Maranatha release (and repeated on the m8 edition). The fellas even corrected some errors in the original lyrics and liner notes.
Definitely a huge improvement over anything we've seen in the past for Shotgun Angel.

Nowhere is Someplace is included on the new Buechners. There might be a way to download it at some point... as there will be some digital distribution. I would say though that the booklet has been expanded to include full lyrics and some new artwork. Some will probably want to replace their old version with the new one.

I'm planning to get the new versions of Shotgun and MBD. I'm assuming the reissue of the self-titled release won't be a big deal since I already have the 3-disc version from a few years ago?

The audio will be the same. The packaging has been expanded slightly, but nothing major. It is in a digipak now instead of the jewel case. That allowed us to do a little more with it. The booklet is a little larger which also allowed us to make some of the photos larger.

So which puts more $ in DA pockets? Buying them from the Webstore or at the Show? Or are they about equal?
Thanks audoris for all your dedication, BTW.

Its pretty well equal. The expenses covered tend to be slightly different - but both have to be paid from the band's money so it ends up even in the end. They'll have some tour expenses that will be paid from what they make on the road - but the webstore will be covering some of those as well - like any CDs we have to ship them.... so, its pretty close to the same.
Thanks for the kind words Marty!

Shipping should begin soon on all three titles.... It'll be a while before we have the complete shipments, but we're trying to get at least a few boxes so we can start shipping the early orders.
If anyone that ordered is going to Cornerstone, we can probably have yours waiting on the booth also if you want us to do that. Whichever is better for you guys is fine with us. I'll let everyone know how to let me know that you want to pick it up.

USPS tracking says that my Shotgun Angel CD is 'out for delivery'. I'm waiting by the door. Okay, not really. But I am excited.
I have the previous CD version to compare it to:
