He loaned me Meltdown and Outdoor Elvis, and I was hooked on both Taylors. It was only several years later ('94?) when I started working in a Christian bookstore where the music buyer knew everything there is to know about music that I realized there was more. I picked up FS and DFBB in the bargain bin on cassette and was hooked.

Isn't that the way most of us here are? We sound interesting in black and white cuz we have time to really think about our responses................
...............unless we are posting shamelessly.
One of my best friends and I met by chance. We had actually seen each other before because our daughters took dance class together. One night MF and I went out with some friends and they brought her daughter along. Our daughter played with her and when her mom and dad picked her up at the place we were at, she and I talked about getting the girls together to play some. She told me that if I had no intentions of getting them together to let her know up front cuz so many people said they would get together and then never call. I knew she and I would get along just fine.
Now we have both attended each other's birth and we don't shut up when we are together.

A friend in high school told me there was this tape at the local Christian bookstore that I needed to hear. We went over there and stuck it in the demo boombox. It was the weirdest thing I had ever heard. To this day, I still don't know why our local store had a single copy of Doppelganger, but I bought it immediately and played it constantly.
That was the beginning of my discovery of Terry Scott Taylor. Coincidentally, that was also how I discovered Tim Chandler.

I was at Insight Christian Bookstore in Schenectady, NY (good place owned by good people). Every time I went there my brother would go through the metal music and I would pour through the arena rock stuff. I cannot recall now what I was planning on purchasing when I went, most likely an early 90's Petra or White Heart release. Whatever. . .
While there I always sorted through the bargain bin for anything that looked interesting. I came across a cassette copy of "Let's Spin." It intrigued me so I bought it without a listen. Upon getting into our car in downtown Schenectady, my mom asked if we wanted to play any of our new music. I immediately pulled out this mystery cassette, opened it up and popped the tape in. As it began, my mom heard the beginning of "Let's Spin" and become immediately concerned because she thought she heard a little girl screaming nearby. It took us about 5 seconds to realize it was on the tape. Honestly, I did not warm up to this cassette quickly, but I eventually fell in love.
My deep appreciation of Terry Taylor actually occurred in 1993 when I purchased a sampler tape called "WALpaper" which had "Hole in the World" on it. I immediately appreciated this song. I was ready for something creative that dug deep into my soul. After hearing it, I soon purchased "Motorcycle" on Cassette. At the time I was unaware that Terry Taylor and Camarillo Eddy were the same person. Once I discovered this, I started really enjoying the "Let's Spin" cassette I had previously purchased.

I found out about "Preachers From Outer Space" I think through the Rad Rockers catalog.
What drew me to it was that it was advertised as a "bootleg."
At the time, I really wanted to find "bootleg" recordings (and imports and harder to find stuff. Also music I had never heard before.)
That one album had me hooked ever since.

Back in the late 70's I bought a LOT of records based only on the album cover. The first DA album looked like it might sound like an Eagles album. Yes, and no. The Eagles were never that witty. Then along came Shotgun Angel and I was hooked. Simple as that.
