My habit of listening to music is not cheap and my wife isn't so keen on me spending all her hard-earned money so the cheap route is easier. But I do want to support the artists that I really like. Back and forth, to and fro, I am tossed by my good intentions. I could try and justify my buying the cheap, discounted copies by saying that I go to so many concerts and I always am buying their t-shirts, but I do live in Canada and most of my favorite artists don't make it across the border that often. So if I said that, I would be lying and that would not be very good. So I am still tossed. Anyone got a life preserver and a boat to pull me in?
(I am planning to reward myself when I get through this semester of school with the latest Lost Dogs cd, but with my wife carrying and delivering twins this summer, Iprobably won't be spoiling myself too much.)

God comes first
family comes second (wife first in the family)
the rest is third
... so your music habit should be supported the best way you can afford to legally
ie. clearance prices etc.
do not feel bad about it either. do what you can, when you can.

Last I heard, Dan & Lisa were having the same problem we and other online stores have had.. keeping NCT in stock to meet the demand.
If it was a title we had released - we'd have thousands in stock, but since its a BEC thing we can only afford to have a hundred or so in stock at a time. We've been selling out before we even get our box of CDs in the mail. The big box we had when it went on sale was sold out within hours.
I haven't checked orders since we got home last night, but we just got a big shipment in while we were gone and I think we might be ahead of the NCT orders now.

The last two Lost Dogs albums have some good songs on them but they need to have the vocals cranked up a notch. We have the best singers in music today and they are singing in hushed whispers and have the vocals lost in the mix.
I don't mind the softer side of the doggies, but they needn't hide their voices. Are they losing confidence? I hope not.
What is going on? What is the philosophy/strategy behind this?
Why doesn't Terry thank specific people like the Townsends on the cd booklet?
CD Highlights: These three songs are worth the price of the cd alone.
Moses in the Desert
Jesus on the Shore
Cry out Loud

We had nothing to do with "Nazarene Crying Towel."
Generally, releases through other companies go straight from the band to those companies to release - especially newly recorded material. The only major exceptions were "the Alarma Book set" - which was entirely assembled by the Warm&Filled team and handed over to M8 for manufacturing - and I suppose "Mr Buechners Dream" - which we put a lot of money into.

I do like this cd. I cranked it up to get more vocals over the weekend. It is not the type of album that would normally get cranked...but normalocity is not where I live.
This is a great cd for the old farts that would normally scoff at the boy's other music.
I got a kick out of playing this cd on the way to church and having my wife comment that she was impressed with my selection. (She is not a "fan" of most of the other work.)
Good worship music.
Purchase.
Enjoy.

Hey, this IS a good thing, right? Are sales overall going this well for NCT, like in the retail outlets, etc? It definitely sounds good to hear you say you can't keep up with the demand and I'm hoping it's a harbinger of better recognition, profitability, etc. for the guys.

Finally got it yesterday.... |
|
...from our local bookstore (along w/ a Rick Altizer CD, Neon Fixation, which ain't bad, but I suspect he's gotten better since then).... anyway, after two listens, definitely better than Real Men Bite, and beats Green Room Serenade for my money too.... ain't ready to put it over Gift Horse (let alone SR & LRRH) -- the best songs there are better than the ones here, although this one's more consistent all the way through....

It rocks. Well, some would disagree but it has a ton of great slow songs.

So is it more of the country sound like Gift Horse and Real Men Cry? I like those two, but I always liked the mixed sound of LRRH and GRS more...
